Capabilities

Prototyping workshop · design · production

We design and build
solutions for production.

From ideas and prototypes to series production. We bring design, our workshop and our own laboratory together.

We get into the details, test ideas and refine the result. Bring us a process problem, a sketch or a part — we will work out how to tackle it.

01 / Capabilities

Four areas.
One workshop.

You do not need to choose a technology up front. Show us the task, and we will select and combine the methods that make sense.

Metalworking

Parts made for the job — from sheet cutting to welding and machining.

METAL
Laser cuttingFibre laser · sheet metal
CNC bendingPress brake
WeldingMIG / TIG · industrial welder
TurningLathe machining
Milling and drillingMilling machine · mill drill
Cutting and finishingIndustrial bandsaw · bench work

From a single part to components for a larger solution.

Plastics and laboratory

We select materials and manufacturing methods, then check form, function and finish.

LAB
3D printingFDM / SLA · prototypes and parts
Plastics machiningCNC router · CO₂ laser
Casting mouldsDesign and manufacture
Silicone castingFunctional and aesthetic parts
Polyurethane castingMaterial selection for the application
Material trialsIn-house lab · material preparation

Our own lab lets us develop the material and chemical aspects of a part too.

Workstations and structures

We build equipment around the task, the operator and the space it will work in.

FRAME
Welded structuresFrames · benches · equipment
Modular profilesAluminium and tubular systems
Assembly workstationsLayouts tailored to the process
Flow racksComponent supply and storage
KarakuriMechanisms tailored to the task
Jigs and fixturesPositioning · repeatable operations

Examples: workstation upgrades, process pallets and operator platforms.

Devices and automation

We combine mechanics, pneumatics and controls to solve a specific process problem.

AUTO
CAD designMechanics and component integration
PLC controlsIntegration with support from PLC programmers
PneumaticsActuation · feeding · clamping
Automatic devicesSolutions for a specific operation
Programming stationsEquipment tailored to the task
Connection componentsRAST solutions · repeated use

Our work includes an automatic lift, a programming station and RAST solutions.

02 / In practice

Technologies in
finished solutions.

The design follows the task. These projects show how we combine mechanics, ergonomics and manufacture.

Spring clamp applicator — CRAFT portfolio image01 ↗

Assembly · pneumatics

Two clamps. One tool.

Limited room for opening two clamps in separate steps.

Custom geometry and pneumatic actuation open both clamps. A foot pedal leaves both hands free to position the parts.

Ergonomics · adjustment

The tool in the right place.

The screwdriver position needs to suit different operators.

Adjustment in three planes, locking mechanisms and markings help operators restore their preferred settings.

Structures · laboratory

Unfold for testing. Fold for storage.

Test enclosures took up storage space, while repeated disassembly wore out the joints.

Hinges and locking elements let the structure fold without undoing its main joints.

03 / Our capabilities

The people.
The equipment.

We complement our own skills and equipment with regular specialist partnerships.

In-house at CRAFTRegular external support

CRAFT’s team and skills at the centre. Around them, specialists we regularly work with.

Let’s start with the task

You do not need
a finished design.

Tell us what needs to work and what is causing problems today. A photo, sketch, model or sample helps us understand the details. If you know the quantity and target date, include those too.
